ABSTRACT:
Radio frequency heating of tokamak plasma in the range of ion cyclotron frequency range using ion Bernstein waves is a promising heating method for fusion reactors. As a first step we have developed a theory for the propagation characteristics using poloidal magnetic field for JIPP T-llU tokamak. The behaviour of polynomial has been seen through the plots for two cold plasma waves and the ion Bernstein wave. It is to be stated that the poloidal magnetic field is essential for above tokamak, to get better result.
