ABSTRACT:
Diversity is one of the- most important characteristics of our nature.. Biodiversity is the variety of au the genes and species, which are found in our planet. The account of fresh water algae is based on extensive. collection from permanent and temporary water bodies in and around the district. Materials collected practically from all possible wet situations in and around the district were examined by Acid Digestion Method. The Present paper deals with taxonomic considerations of 16 freshwater algae belonging to class bacillariophyceae. Bacillariophyceae genera are Achnanthes (1 sp), Cymbella (3 sp), Eunotia (1 sp), Fragilaria (1 sp), Gomphonema (1 sp), Hantizschia (1 sp), Melosira (3 sp), Navicula (1 sp), Nitzschia (1 sp], Pinnularia (1 sp), Pleurosigma (1 sp) and Surirella (1 sp).
