ABSTRACT:
Localization is a prerequisite for almost all monitoring or control tasks in wireless sensor network. Analysing characteristics of localizable wireless sensor network and designing an efficient localization system under a variety of working environments· are recent horizons in sensor network that needs to be reviewed. Being very resources restricted networks the most critical requirement for life of sensor network is to control the usage of energy. To be energy efficient nodes are synchronized with neighbouring nodes and contributing in collection of ranging data to estimate the position of sensor network, Further, the computation for localization is not based on some central nodes but the whole set of nodes contributes so it is distributive in nature. The prime focus of this work is to integrate the media access control scheme to the localization process of wireless sensor network. This paper presents the design overview of the localization system tunnelled with the standards of sensor MAC protocol and details the control structure needed. In this paper we have discussed every minute aspect of sensor network localization model including the topology, mobility, and channel and propagation schemes with scheduled transmission access.
