ABSTRACT:
In today's era cosmetic industry is deeply concerned with introduction of novel systems, and herbal as multifunctional active ingredient in the formulations to cope smartly with consumer's demand. The latter includes effective and safe treatment within a short period of time and to prevent chronic effects of dermal disorders. As a result synergistic effect could be gained by introduction of multifunctional ingredient as herbal actives into 'novel delivery system·(= ethosomes) to treat dermal problems faced by today's major world population that is appearance of wrinkles before age with additional benefits by introduction of multifunctional herbal actives. These multifunctional herbal agent enriched with herbal actives in Ethosomes can lead to smarter effects because of advantageous nature of ethosomes to fulfill objective of topical delivery system that is enhanced delivery of active agents at deeper level of skin, packed less tightly than conventional vesicles but has equivalent stability, allowing a more malleable structure and improves drug distribution in stratum corneum lipids, phospholipids present in ethosomes rejuvenate cell membrane. This paper focuses on smart ethosome vesicular system even protects actives from adverse environmental effect and enhances stability of formulation. Multifunctional herbal extract as active constituent incorporated into it to treat major problems at safer level with negligible side effects. This smart formulation is easy to scale up at industrial level and thus adds significant economy to cosmetic industries also.
