ABSTRACT:
Acacia pennata (L.) Willd is erect shrubs, frequentlypresent around fields as hedges. A. pennata leaves are used medicinally in traditional systems of health careby Banjara tribe. The anatomical and phytochemical studies of its leaves were carried out In its petiole, a ring of unequal bundles is present. This type of transition in petioler organization has not been reported earlier for the family. Phytochemical analysis was carried out to test 16 different of bioactive molecules. Investigations confirmed the presence of alkaloids, simple phenolics, flavanol, flavones, leucoanthocyanin, tannins, saponins, steroids and cardenolides. Ash analysis was also done to study the mineral contents like-Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Aluminum, Manganese, Copper, Nickel, Chromium and Zinc.
