ABSTRACT:
In this paper an optimum sample size for dual to ratio estimator, proposed by Srivenkataramana (1980) and Bandopadhyay (1980), has been suggested. In this case the dual to ratio estimator becomes more efficient. However, the optimum sample size is larger than the sample size suggested by Srivenkataramana. In some practical situations it may not be possible to take such a large sample. Therefore, an estimator has been proposed which is almost unbiased and is more elficient than dual to ratio estimator for a smaller sample size. A numerical illustration has been pre• sented to illustrate some mathematical findings.
