ABSTRACT:
Abstract: A Comparative study of low cost adsorbents (Rice husk and Waste activated carbon) has been made for the colour removal of dye, methylene blue. The variables studied are pH, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dose and time. The adsorption follows first order kinetic model and rate is mainly controlled by intra particle diffusion. Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms were fitted well with the experimental data. The present study shows that RH may be used as a better adsorbent than WAC.
