ABSTRACT:
In the present paper an attempt has been made to show the marriage age and marriage distance among the Sawaras of Chhattlsgarh region in Madhya Pradesh. This study is based on randomly selected sample of 535 married couple among ·sawaras from 21 villages of the region. Th0 data have been collected by interview schedule from January to June 1996. and analysed for the present study. Among the males highest frequency ot 30.38% has been found in the age group of 17 -18 years old. The mean marriage age among sawara male has been found to be 18.23+_frequency of 39.21 % has been found in the 0.08 yearsfound to be 16.95+_ 0.04 years in the areas of marriage distance, the highest frequency of 20.37 % has been has found 0.51 kms.
