ABSTRACT:
An attempt is made to investigate theoretically the effect of radiation doses on biological bodies. In this regard, the theoretical techniquetor the computation of absorbed energy within dielectric spherical model of human brain have been used to obtain the biologically effective radiation dose in units of rad equivalent mammal(rem). Using the published value for dielectric properties and conductivity of human brain tissues and the value of E2 generated by assuming human head of 8 cm radii sphere as irradiated by plane wave, and the variation of absorbed energy with variation in human brain tissues depth are investigated. It is found. That energy absorbed decreases with increasing depth of biological bodies (i.e. in the deep muscle). Further, the quantlzation of cellular death has been obtained for higher radiation doses absorbed by biological bodies, using Poisson statistics. It is found that survival fractions of cells decrease continuously with increasing radiation doses.
