ABSTRACT:
The galloping population upsets the gains from all developmental activities and hence a family planning programme was started in india in 1952. The primary Health Centre, Abhanpur was transferred to Medical College Raipur in the 1980 and it was planned to study the impact of family welfare programme on the community of this block. During the present study an attempt was made to collect various demographic, health & socio-economic data of the Community for the period of early stage of the programme & these were compared with the data collected in 1980-81 & later. Family Welfare programme has a definite influence on the grouth rate of block which has decreased from 3-8 % during 1961-71, to 1.85% during 1971-81 decades. Other socio-economic changes and changes in health status have also been observed.
