Abstract: White
pumpkin belonging to the Cucurbitacae family is popularly known as
"BhauraKhumda", "Rakhiya" "Petha" in different
regions of India. Various therapeutic applications have been reported about the
kernals of the fruit. The present work is to determine the active phytochemical
constituents present in its flesh part and to study on the stability of the
product. The flesh part of the pumpkin fruit is widely used in treatment of
diseases like diabetes, cancer, cataracts, macular degeneration, astimagtism,
intestinal inflammation. The research is helpful in developing a new and novel
delivery system of the pumpkin gel which is fruitful in cure of various diseases
and also does act as a rich dietary supplement. Different pytochemical test are
performed on the juice obtained from the white pumpkin and based on the result
the therapeutic efficacy of the fruit is determined.
