Abstract: The present paper is
devoted to the study of a stochastic model based on two non-identical units
(unit-1 and unit-2) with a mixture of ective and passive redundancies. The
switching device to put the standby into operation main failed with some fixed
non probability. A single repair man is callad for the repair of a failed
unit switch who takes some significant random time to come with the system and
the priority in repair is given to switching device. All the failure time
distributions and distribution of time to working and time to rest of unit-2
are teken as exponential whereas the repair time distributions and waiting time
distributions of repair men are assumed to be ganeral. By using supplementary
variable technique various measures of system effectiveness are obtained the
behaviours of MTSF and profit function are also studied graphicelly in respect
of some parameters.
