Abstract : In the present paper an
attempt has been made to highlight
the extent of adoption of scientific
cultivation practices
of okra by the growers
Girwa panchayat samiti of Udaipur district of Rajasthan and constraints ancountered by them there in.
this study is based on the randomly selected 40 okra culltivators from the
two prime okra
producing villages
of Girwa panchayat samiti. The data have been
collected by personal
interview technique on a well prepared schedule. Majority of the okra cultivators were
found low adopter of advocated scientific production technology of this vegetable crop. However, the major
constraints faced in adoption of scientific technique of okra cultivation was the ''shortage of water and lack
of proper irrigation tacilities".
The training of the farmers about balanced
use of fertilizers was felt as
their adoption with respect ot this
practice was found
zero.
