Product Estimators Under Durbin's Model

Abstract: In this papar we have propsed a class of product astimators for estimating the population means Y of study character y using auxiliary information on x character in singla phase sampling. Assuming a linear model the bias and mean square of the proposed estimator has been derived and its efficiency compared with the usual unbiased estimator (y) and the conventional product estimator. Here, to simplity the discussion, we confina ourselvas to simple random sampling and assuma the population size to be infinite.
