Abstract: 100 percent
mothers were breast feeding their infants while 93% feeding on demand.
Only 11.94% mothers gave breast
fed to their new boms with in 6 hrs. of the Birth. 10.06%
mothers gave breast milk as first feed, rest preferred to gave their babies some
kind
of prelacteal feeds.
Most
of the mothers had poor knowledge about weaning and discontinuation of breast feeding.
