District The River Mahanadi life stream of Chhattisgarh traverses the block and the area north to Sonakhan hills is plain & rural where as southern
part is hilly with dense forests. I.C.D.S. in this region
was started in 1983 and in 1988. It was
found that immunization status
of B.C.G. and D.P.T. had improved. Nutritional supplement programme of I.C.D.S. has been successful
'in preventing cases of severe mal-nourishment and the prevalence rate of illness in
1988 was lowered incomparison to 1984-85
