Abstract. In the year 1983, integrated Child Development Schemes as started in Kasdol block, situated in Centre of Chhattisgarh, District
Raipur (M.P.). A preliminary survey
of the area was undertaken by a team of Pt. J.N.M. Medical College. Raipur 1984-85,
when the l.C.D.S. was just in the initial takeoff
phase. Again after a period of three
years in 1988, a followup survey was carried out. On comparison of the findings
of the two surveys, a hypnotising impact of I.C.D.S. on utilisation of health care delivery by the pregnant
and laclating women
of the block particularly by the tribal women
has been noted.
