Abstract: The intrusion of pink granite (2380·2000 m.y.) and its consanguineous pegmatites in and around Manalur. possibly resulted  in the migmatization of the  two· pyroxene   granulites.lt is presumed   that the reactive  fluids  had moved  along the major shear  planes  of Eastern Ghat belt and Caused the formation  of intermediate  and acidic rocks. Petrochemical study of the different rock types also confirms this view.
