Abstract. The velocity distribution for the boundary layer flow over a semi-infinite flat pate embedded in a saturated porous medium governed by equations is determined by using the method of successive approximations. We evaluated
the shearing stress T0 over the plate, displacement thickness δ1 and momentum
thickness δ2. We conclude that with the increase of the first order resistance A1, the displacement thickness δ1 increases whereas the momentum
thickness δ2 and shear stress T0 decrease. The result
is substantiated with the help of tables and
graphs.
